The transmission is located inside the trunk. The result is two motors for the small electric suv; one for the motor driving the vehicle and one for the electric motor powering the battery. These allow the vehicle to go all day long on electricity but limits the distance the battery can travel.

However, in general, electric vehicles have less horsepower than their gasoline counterparts. So in the event of a collision, they will probably decelerate more quickly than a comparable gasoline model would. However, in an emergency or crash, they could probably get away with a bit more speed, as some models have programs to slow down to a stoplight if needed.

Plugging in our electric cars also offers a number of benefits over traditional all-electric vehicles. For one, they are cleaner and quieter. As energy efficiency increases, they become greener as well. The only setback to a plug-in SUV electric car is the lack of power when the vehicle is stopped, compared to when it’s still moving.

Because small electric vehicles cost so much less to fuel and maintain, they will most likely be the wave of the future. More Reliable

Many people believe small electric cars are more reliable than larger vehicles. Some of these reasons are questionable, and others are actually valid. For instance, a small vehicle platform may be more stable when driving uphill, because the electric car’s tires have less traction. But there is no evidence that proves electric car reliability, only opinions from enthusiasts.

A final advantage of owning an all-electric vehicle is the fact that fuel efficiency is improved. Most gasoline powered vehicles are not as fuel efficient as a small electric sedan could be. If you are concerned about the environment, consider purchasing a fuel-efficient vehicle platform such as a Honda FCX or Toyota Prius. Both of these cars have been known to consume considerably less fuel and have very little pollution to speak of. As these models continue to grow in popularity, more environmentally friendly vehicles may be added to the all-electric lineup. In the meantime, you can at least feel good about supporting green technology, as these vehicles are more fuel efficient than ever.
